Located 22 km from Udaipur Bus Station, Eklingji Temple is a 1000-year-old temple. The main deity here is Lord Shiva. You can find a four-faced Shivalinga made of black marble in the main sanctum santorum.
At the Eklingji Temple in Udaipur, there are around 108 small temples dedicated to various gods. The entire temple is made of white marble and balua stone. You can also find beautiful carvings all around the temple here. The temple is two-storied with a pyramid-shaped roof and a 50-foot-high spire.
In the Eklingji Temple, Udaipur, you will find a silver Nandi and many other Nandi's made of stone and metals. There are two tanks, Karz Kund and Tulsi Kund, on the north side of the temple.
Eklingji Temple, Udaipur History
Eklingji Temple, Udaipur, was constructed by the ruler Bappa Rawal in 734 A.D. He consecrated the idol of Sri Eklingji. During the Delhi Sultanate's rule, the temple was destroyed. Later, several rulers renovated it to preserve glory and faith. In the 14th century, Hamir Singh placed the first idol here. Rana Kumbha added the Vishnu Temple here during renovation. In the 15th century, Malwa’s Sultanate, Ghiyath Shah, attacked it. Rana Raimal, the son of Rana Kumbha, defeated and captured him. He got money from Malwa’s sultanate for his release and used it for rebuilding the temple
